Why pay more for the first time?

During the first visit Your general condition is assessed, Your previous medical history is recorded, and on basis of these, we define the required goal and the therapeutic strategy for its achievement.

Acupuncture

  1. How many acupuncture sessions are needed?

Since everybody is unique, there is no "cure-them-all" therapy. Every patient needs a special, customised treatment, which takes into account all the different personal factors. Nevertheless in order to provide some initial insight, I give You a somewhat general answer below.
The "Nada protocol" of the US National Acupuncture Detoxification Association derives directly from the Chinese medicine theory of detoxification, adapted to Western attitudes and conditions. According to the NADA method in the first two weeks of detoxification daily treatments. Although this frequent treatment is adviced for heavily dependent drog addicts, according to my own experience frequent treatments are the most successful. Naturally it is not very easy to include an acupuncture session in one's evereday routine, therefore I always take into account the personal wishes and possibilities in the therapeutic strategy.
In general, it is adviced to come as frequently as You can, until the detoxifying-energybalancing effect starts. In this period the best pratice is an acupuncture session every other day, so try to plan a visit for Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Sould Your days be to busy, we can use press needles, which stay in for 5-6 days, helping to achieve the desired effect.
We will discuss all these possibilities during Your first visit.

  2. Is it painful?

Acupuncture points — especially if there's disharmony or energetic inbalance in the body — can be sensitive or even painful. We often hear for Chinese practitioners that acupuncture is not painful, it is rather like a little unpleasant, pricking, stinging feeling. Well, that might be true for Chinese patients, who are needled from their childhood, but is not neccessarily true for Europen patients.

  3. Is there a risk of infection from acupuncture needles?

We use only single use, disposable acupuncture needles. Single use, disposable needles remove the risks of Hepatitis B + C and HIV, furthermore, the single use, disposable needles remove the remote risk of vCJD. Sterilisation using an autoclave does not remove the prion protein that causes vCJD. Used needles are discarded immediately after use in suitable disposal containers.

  4. For how long can a press needle kept on the skin?

Press needles are used in treatments where the needles need to be left in for extended periods of time (a week or more). They are very small needles that are ‘pressed’ onto the point and are held in place with a small surgical adhesive sterilised patch. They are used where prolonged stimulation of a point is needed.

Bach flower remedy

  1. For how long should Bach flower remedy be taken?

The most simple answer: until the problem disappears.
Benefit comes from small quantity and regular use.
Your special mixture is taken until the problem disappears. Once the emotions are stabilized, the flower essences may be discontinued.

Weight loss

  1. How much weight can I expect to lose?

The rate of weight loss depends on many different factors, such as the weight You need to lose, Your previous (fad) diets, and Your body type as well. Altough I prescribe a special diet for You, taking as much of Your personal tastes into account as possible, it's still impossible to tell how much weight You will actually lose.

Due to the wide variety of personal characteristics, no one can realibly say that You will lose certain number of kilogramms during certain number of weeks.
Generally a 5-20 kg weight loss can be expected, depending on Your "starting" weight and the length of the weight loss plan.
I will help You to set a realistic weight loss goal, according to Your physical and other conditions.
